Sustainability

Parker Farms understands the delicate balance between sustainable and local food distribution. They are dedicated to staying ahead of trends and ways to create solutions that offer the consumer the best possible product. Generating extraordinary value for the growers and consumers alike by providing a dynamic, rewarding workplace that supports our families and communities alike.

Methods

Family growers are kinder to the earth than large industrial farms. Sustainability methods include reduction in air pollution, surface water and groundwater usage, over-consuming fossil fuel and water resources, degrading soil quality, inducing erosion and accelerating the loss of biodiversity. Ultimately reducing the health of the farm workers, socioeconomic fabric of communities and quality of life.

Quality

Personnel are on site, full time to control the quality of production. Only inspected product is shipped and these quality inspection reports are issued to the sales team multiple times a day. Regional, sustainable farming greatly reduces the need to over package, repack and helps minimize the opportunity of quality reduction as goods are delivered to their consumers.

Temperature

We understand that nothing can promote freshness and quality better than rapid elimination of field heat and maintenance of the proper cold chain. To accomplish this, state of the art hydro-coolers, forced air coolers and other refrigeration equipment are employed as best applied.
